
MG Majestor launched in India, credit: X
MG Motors has introduced the MG Majestor 7-Seater SUV in India today, 12th February 2026. The newly launched SUV is bigger than the Gloster, the MG Majestor sits in the D+ segment, and it is the company’s biggest car in India.
The new SUV is a direct rival to popular SUVs on Indian roads such as Toyota Fortuner Legender, Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tayron and Nissan X-trail. Automotive enthusiasts can also witness the launch event online on the company’s official YouTube channel.
MG Majestory SUV was first seen in Auto Expo 2025 last year. The new SUV is powered by a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine similar to Gloster. It may be offered in both rear wheel-drive and four wheel-drive configurations.
In terms of interior design, the new SUV is focused on comfort and advanced technology. The SUV features multiple massage modes, a JBL 12-speaker audio system, and 64-colour ambient lightning that gives more premium and luxury experience. The cabin has a digital instrument cluster, and a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other than this, the SUV has a panoramic sunroof.
In terms of design and exterior, the newly launched MG Majestor 7-seater appears bold and muscular. At the front, the SUV offers a matrix-inspired grille, Dragon-Eye DRLs, and tri-beam LED headlamp. The newly launched SUV has 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels which the company claims to be largest in this class which enhance the look and road presence.
In terms of safety, the SUV is equipped with Level 2 ADAS, consisting of lane keeping assist and adaptive cruise control with six airbags, hill-descent control, and a 360-degree HD camera for enhanced visibility. The SUV features selectable drive modes like 2H, 4H, and 4L as well as three differential locks to handle tougher terrain.
The newly launched SUV is powered by a 2.0-litre twin turbo diesel engine that generates up to 216hp paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This is the same engine type that is offered in the company’s Gloster. However, the company has added a few extra refinements and capability, consisting of an all-wheel-drive setup in select variant.
The price of the SUV has not been revealed yet. The company will be revealing the official price of the newly launched SUV will be announced in April 2026 and deliveries may start in May 2026. However, the pre-booking of the SUV has started and interested buyers can book the SUV at a token amount of Rs 41,000
