Wellington: As Leicester City etched their names in the history books by claiming their first Premier League title, star striker Jamie Vardy took to social media to taunt his Tottenham counterpart Harry Kane.
Second-placed Tottenham squandered a two-goal lead in their 2-2 draw against Chelsea to hand Leicester the league title in one of the most remarkable seasons of the football history.
Minutes after the conclusion of the match, an ecstatic Vardy posted a picture of Musafa’s dramatic death scene from the Disney movie ‘The Lion King’.
Vardy’s post is being widely viewed as a response to Kane’s two-week old taunt on his Instagram handle wherein he posted a photo of a pack of lions, implying that Tottenham were on course to put an end to Leicester’s title run, Stuff.co.nz reported.
Leicester, who escaped relegation last season and started the current season as 5000-1 outsiders, overcame their underdogs tag to be crowned champions.
The pair displayed a superb form in the season, with Vardy and Kane scoring 22 and 24 league goals respectively.
They will likely to join forces for England in Euro 2016.
