Delhi Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Saurabh Bhardwaj joined the ‘Thali Bajao Campaign’ in the Greater Kailash area, rallying behind the slogan ‘Kejriwal ko Riha Karo’ (Free Kejriwal from Jail).

Earlier, Sunita Kejriwal, the wife of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, visited the office of the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) on Tuesday evening to meet her husband, who was remanded to six days of ED custody in connection with the alleged liquor policy scam case.

The Rouse Avenue Court extended Kejriwal’s custody till March 28 following his arrest on March 21.

Sunita Kejriwal had previously met CM Kejriwal at the ED’s office on Saturday, March 23.

While the BJP has called for Kejriwal to step down from the chief minister’s post after his arrest, AAP maintains that he will continue to govern from ED custody.

Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj revealed that CM Kejriwal issued a second directive from ED custody, instructing him to address shortages of medicines and diagnostic tests at mohalla clinics and hospitals in the capital.

Kejriwal’s arrest on March 21 by the Enforcement Directorate relates to the excise policy case, focusing on alleged irregularities and money laundering in framing and implementing the Delhi excise policy 2022, which was subsequently annulled.

Although Kejriwal was not initially named in the FIRs filed by the ED or the Central Bureau of Investigation in the Delhi excise policy case, his name surfaced in the ED’s chargesheet. The agency claimed that he engaged in a video call with Sameer Mahendru, a key accused, and urged him to continue collaborating with co-accused and AAP communications-in-charge Vijay Nair.

Nair was among the initial individuals arrested by the CBI in 2022. Following that, former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh were apprehended in connection with the case.
