According to police, the army killed an infiltrator in the border district of Kupwara in north Kashmir on Monday.

“One #Pakistani #terrorist/infiltrator got #neutralised by Army in Keran Sector (Jumagund area) in #Kupwara district. Search ops in the area is still going on. Further details shall follow,” said a police spokesman on Twitter.

This comes after the Indian Army killed one terrorist in Kupwara on Wednesday. According to officials, a gunfight erupted between security personnel and terrorists near Sudpora in the Karnah sector of the LoC, and one terrorist was killed in the exchange of fire.

Two terrorists were killed on September 26 when the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police stopped a similar infiltration attempt in Kupwara. The militants who were killed in a gun battle with security officers were found with pistols and grenades.

The latest bid was foiled a day after J&K Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh said that Pakistan was trying to push in as many terrorists from across with the onset of winter.

“Our border grid is very strong to foil their evil attempts,” Singh said on Sunday.

The DGP said in recent past infiltration attempts were foiled in Rajouri-Poonch, Kupwara-Baramulla areas.
