A 61-year-old man from Krishnagiri, who was ailing with more than one disease at the same time and tested positive, died at a government hospital, bringing the death toll to 38,033.

The state witnessed 1,288 new Covid-19 cases, including a returnee from New Delhi, making the total a tally of 35,48,195, the health department said.
As the 61-year-old was suffering from comorbidity and then tested positive for Covid-19, died at a government hospital, as reported by a medical bulletin.

1,691 people have convalesced from the virus in the past 24 hours, with 11,392 active cases in the region.
Three districts have reported active cases in triple digits, with Coimbatore adding 138, Chengalpet 115, and Chennai 283, while the remaining cases were reported from the other districts.


The 61-year-old was suffering from Artery diseases, high blood pressure, and type-2 diabetes.
The Krishnagiri resident was admitted to Dharmapuri Medical College Hospital with difficulty in breathing and high fever, which are the common symptoms of the virus.
