Nitish Kumar was the target of a vicious attack by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday, who said that the JD(U) leader “backstabbed” the anti-Congress politics from which he had emerged and “sat on the laps” of Lalu Yadav to become Prime Minister.

Shah spoke during the first Jana Bhavna Mahasabha since the BJP and JD(U) alliance in the state of Bihar dissolved, which was held in Purnea “In order to become prime minister, Nitish Kumar reversed the anti-Congress politics he was raised in and sat in the laps of the RJD and Congress. Can Nitish Kumar become prime minister by switching parties or allies in pursuit of power? Can this government run in Bihar?”

Shah criticised the state’s law and order situation and claimed that since the Mahagathbandhan administration retook power, there has been a “environment of terror” in the state.

“Today, while I’m in border districts, Lalu Yadav, the leader of the RJD, and (CM) Nitish Kumar both have stomachaches. Nitish Kumar and Lalu Yadav claim that I am coming to stir up trouble. Lalu ji, you have enough power to instigate strife; I don’t need to. You’ve been doing this your entire life. I’ve come here to say that there is a fearful atmosphere now that Lalu has joined the cabinet and Nitish Kumar is perched on his lap.I’m here to assure you that you don’t need to be afraid. The Narendra Modi government is present, he declared.

According to Shah, the rally’s attendance is a “warning for the Lalu-Nitish administration.”

He continued, “There will be a beginning of sounding the bugle from Bihar against the infusion of selfishness and power that Nitish Kumar has given by tricking the BJP and sitting on Lalu’s lap.”

Shah asked, “Can Nitish babu become the PM by changing political alliances? “, recalling previous instances in which Nitish Kumar switched sides. Since getting into politics, he has misled numerous people. Beware, Lalu ji; tomorrow, Nitish babu may be sitting on Congress’ knee, leaving you behind.

Earlier today, Amit Shah arrived in PPurnea, Bihar for a 2-day visit to the state.
