The political heat is getting more high in dravidian batteground as Joseph Vijay has officially received TN Governor’s nod to form the government in Tamil Nadu after a crucial meeting on Friday. Thalapathy Vijay is now ready to become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu after getting a nod from the Governor to form the government after a long stretch of political uncertainty and negotiations. Vijay met with the Governor for the third day in a row at Raj Bhavan and claimed that he will form the government with the support of 118 MLAs. It is believed that the oath-taking ceremony will be scheduled for tomorrow at 11 am. The turn of events is dramatic and comes after several regional and Left parties threw their support behind Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), enabling the actor-politician to cross the 118-seat number in the 234-seat Assembly.
Vijay Finally Crosses Majority Mark
TVK was the single largest party in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections with 108 seats but fell short on the numbers required to form the government requiring 118 seats to do so. During the last few days Vijay had several rounds of talks with his allies and political leaders to get their support.
The Congress party already received support from its five MLAs. The game changer came when CPI and CPI(M) support was announced for TVK, giving two more MLAs to Vijay. This brought Vijay’s tally to 117. Sources also say that the VCK was led by Thol. Thirumavalavan is supporting TVK, which has led the coalition well beyond the majority mark.

Governor Meeting Proves Decisive
Vijay’s meeting with the Governor on Friday proved crucial after two earlier meetings reportedly ended without a breakthrough. Earlier, the Governor had expressed reservations over whether TVK had adequate support to form a stable government.
At Friday’s meeting, Vijay reportedly submitted letters of support from allied MLAs and formally staked a claim to form the next government in Tamil Nadu. Sources said the Governor accepted the claim after verifying the numbers.
Critics described the development as a defining moment in Tamil Nadu politics, especially with the rise of a non-traditional political force challenging the long-standing dominance of the DMK and AIADMK.
CPI Support Changes Political Equation
CPI termed its decision to support Vijay as a move aimed at ensuring political stability and respecting the people’s mandate. CPI General Secretary D. Raja said the party responded positively after consultations with both state and national leadership.
Analysts believe the Left parties played a decisive role in shaping the post-election scenario. Their support has not only strengthened Vijay’s position but also added political legitimacy to his transition from cinema superstar to Chief Ministerial candidate. With the deadlock seemingly over, Tamil Nadu is now preparing for a historic political transition led by Vijay and TVK.
