IAF To Display Aerial Prowess On 90th Anniversary In Chandigarh On Indian Air Force Day 2022

Indian Air Force Day 2022: The Indian Air Force will demonstrate its prowess at its 90th anniversary celebration today in Chandigarh. On this occasion, the Chief of Air Staff will also reveal the new combat uniform pattern for IAF personnel.

As part of its 90th anniversary celebrations, the Indian Air Force will put on a spectacular display of aircraft.

According to officials, nearly 80 military aircraft and helicopters will take part in the Air Force Day fly-past today at the Sukhna Lake complex here.

The IAF has decided to hold its annual Air Force Day parade and fly-past outside of the Delhi NCR for the first time. On Saturday morning, prior to the air show, a ceremonial parade will be held at the air force station. The parade will be inspected by Air Chief Marshal V R Chaudhari.

On this occasion, the Chief of Air Staff will also unveil the new pattern of combat uniform for IAF personnel, they said.

The ALH Mk IV chopper will fly past in Rudra formation at the parade event, according to officials. At the event, the mechanical transport team will demonstrate vehicle dismantling and reassembly in a short period of time, followed by a performance by the air warrior drill team.

The fly-past will take place later in the afternoon at Sukhna Lake.

President Droupadi Murmu and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will attend the aerial display at Sukhna Lake.

Which planes will appear in the aerial megashow?
During the fly-past, the recently inducted indigenously-built Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) “Prachand” will demonstrate its aerial prowess in a three-plane formation.
