The Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate Gujarat’s first All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rajkot on Sunday. He will arrive at the Rajkot AIIMS in the afternoon and subsequently address a gathering at the Race Course ground in the city during the evening. In a social media post on X, PM Modi expressed, “Rajkot will always hold a special place in my heart. It was the people of this city who placed their trust in me, granting me my first electoral victory. Since then, I have consistently strived to fulfill the aspirations of the Janta Janardan. It is also a happy coincidence that I will be in Gujarat today and tomorrow, and one of the events is taking place in Rajkot, where 5 AIIMS will be dedicated to the nation.”

AIIMS Kalyani is located in the Nadia district of West Bengal, covering an area exceeding 20,000 square meters. The institution commenced its inaugural academic session on September 4, 2019, welcoming a cohort of 50 MBBS students. However, the campus has recently encountered controversy, as it is reported to be operating without the necessary environmental clearance, as per claims from the Bengal Pollution Control Board.
AIIMS Raebareli, as per information from the Press Information Bureau website, has had its outpatient department (OPD) facility partially operational since August 10, 2018. The campus was sanctioned by the Congress-led UPA government in 2009 as part of Phase II of the Pradhan Mantri Sawasthya Suraksha Yojana, according to details provided on the institute’s website.
AIIMS Mangalagiri, as per information from the PIB website, commenced its outpatient department (OPD) services on March 12, 2019, in Andhra Pradesh. Additionally, the institute’s website indicates that the academic session began at a newly constructed temporary campus located at Government Siddhartha Medical College in Vijayawada in 2018.
AIIMS Rajkot, as stated on its website, initiated its first academic session in 2020. According to an official government announcement, the Prime Minister is scheduled to visit AIIMS Rajkot on Sunday afternoon and subsequently deliver a speech at a gathering at the Race Course ground in the city later in the evening.
