Rajouri terror attack: Death toll reaches seven

The deceased, named as Prince, died while being treated at the Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu. Notably, six people, including two children, were murdered and many more were injured in two terror strikes late Sunday evening and Monday early in Upper Dangri village in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district.

Meanwhile, the Indian Army said on Sunday that two terrorists engaged in the incident had been neutralised.

“On Saturday, around 8 p.m., vigilant troops of the Indian Army positioned on the border fence in Balakot (District Poonch) spotted suspicious movement ahead of the boundary wire and subsequently neutralised two terrorists,” claimed the Indian Army.

According to the authority, the area has been sealed off and activities are underway.

Six people, including two children, were murdered and many more were injured in two separate terror strikes in Upper Dhangri village, Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir.

Jawans from the Central Reserve Police Force have also been deployed in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir.

The residents of Dhangri village urged the deployment of soldiers to increase security in the region.

Following the civilian deaths in the two terror incidents in the Rajouri district, the Union Home Ministry issued an order to deploy an extra 18 companies to Jammu and Kashmir.

While four people were gunned down on January 1 evening, two children were murdered and numerous others were injured in Rajouri’s Upper Dhangri village on January 2 morning after a suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) detonation.

The injured were being treated at a hospital in Jammu.
