Sundar Pichai also said that users can finally get rid of old or outdated email IDs and choose a better name through their Google Account settings.
However, this feature is currently available only to a limited number of users.
What Happens to Old Email?
After you change your Gmail address, people can start sending emails to your new address. However, you old email ID will still stay connected to your account. No one else will be able to use it, and people who don’t know your new address can still send emails to the old one.
