French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna will be on a three-day visit to India from September 13-15.

French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna will be on a three-day visit to India from September 13-15. During her visit, Colonna will hold talks with her Indian counterpart S Jaishankar.

To kickstart her official visit from September 13-15, Colonna will be traveling to Mumbai for engagements with industry leaders and site visits on September 15, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Monday.

On September 14, Colonna will hold talks with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on bilateral, regional, and international issues of mutual interest.

Colonna’s visit will focus on tightening the traditional Indo-French relationship. During her visit, the focus will lie on enhancing long-standing partnerships in trade, defense, climate, migration, education, and health sectors.

Colonna will also meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and NSA Ajit Doval. The key agenda of Colonna’s visit is 25-year strategic partnership between the two countries and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region. She will also be discussing preparations for the upcoming Indian G20 presidency.

Other things on Colonna’s itinerary are as follows:

1 – Visit Delhi’s Lady Shri Ram College for Women, where she will discuss gender equality with young Indian women

2 – Will inspect India’s newest submarine built with French assistance at the Mazagon Docks Limited (MDL) shipyard

3 – Will deliver a speech at an event hosted by the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) think tank

4 – Will take part in the 45th Annual General Meeting of the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry
