According to the police on Monday, in the last 10 days, the Punjab Police have dismantled five terrorist modules in the state and detained 17 terrorists.
The police have also taken 25 revolvers and pistols from their possession in addition to four rifles, including AKs, MP-9s, and MP-5s. A police spokesman added that in addition to this, the police teams also found three hand grenades and one IED. Sukhchain Singh Gill, IGP headquarters, stated that the police are doing all possible to keep the state peaceful and harmonious at his weekly news conference on Monday.
He said, “In the recent ten days, the Police teams have managed to deal a serious blow to the terrorist modules being operated by gangster-turned-terrorists such Lakhbir Singh alias Landa, Harvinder Singh alias Rinda, and Arsh Dalla from outside India.”
According to Gill, police busted a module on October 1 after arresting three members of an ISI-backed terror cell led by Lakhbir Landa, a Canadian, and Harvinder Rinda, a Pakistani, and finding one sophisticated AK-56 assault rifle in their possession, along with two magazines, 90 live rounds, and two shells.
He stated that earlier on September 28, a member of the terrorist Lakhbir Landa gang from Canada was apprehended in Bihar for his involvement in a number of horrific crimes, including murder, attempted murder, assault, robbery, and purse snatching.
An ISI-backed drone-based Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) terror module run by Canadian-based terrorist/gangster Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh Dala was raided the next day, according to the IGP, with the capture of two of its members from the Chamkaur Sahib region. Two illegal firearms, a.32 bore handgun and a.22 bore revolver, as well as 21 live rounds, were also found in their hands by the police. Two days later, the Police detained another member of the same module after finding two handguns and three hand grenades in his car.
