Maate co-founder Priyanka C Raina joined NewsX for an exclusive conversation where NewsX in an endevaour to put forth some of India’s finest and brightest recognised Priyanka for her excellence in social entrepreneurship.

Priyanka derived her motivation to start the venture Maate from being a mother which she defines as a unique journey that one has to experience on own.

She started Maate as a passionate mother as she couldn’t find natural products because the market is loaded with chemical-induced products for infants. She further added that the venture is filled with love and motherly care, as “Maate” has completed 3 years in the market.

She reiterated that the products are chemical-free and sustainable as she was overwhelmed by the chemically induced products for babies, which gave her the idea of creating natural-based products. She also added that she has tested products on her children.

Talking about the Gracia-Raina-foundation, she told NewsX that still a lot of females are unaware of the problems that entail pregnancy, so she is working towards making women aware about the same as well as maternal health, and reproductive health. She stated that the foundation started off with the slums in Delhi and has branched out to other parts of the country.

On being asked about the changes which entail parenthood, she said that motherhood has changed her as a person, she changed nations and professions. She even talked about how Cricketer Suresh Raina has changed as a person after becoming a father, “fatherhood has undoubtedly changed him as a person.

“Suresh adds a lot to the venture as he brings his experience from the field, competency, leadership, and decision-making skills,” Priyanka said upon asked about his contribution to the organisation.

She advised the young girls to follow their hearts and that it is really important to become both financially and emotionally independent. She also felt honoured as she got recognised at the iTV’s first Shakti Conclave – We Women Want.
