After being dismissed for 224 on the back of some superb bowling by Gus Atkinson (5 for 33), England began with a brilliant partnership of 92 from their openers Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley. However, England then slid from 106 for 0 to 247 all out, as India seized back control of the match. The star of the show with the ball was Mohammed Siraj, who finished with bowling figures of 4/86, alongside Prasidh Krishna with 4/40, together taking eight of England’s wickets. They limited England’s lead to 23 runs and after India finished Day 2 at 75 for 2, with Yashasvi Jaiswal scoring a lively unbeaten 51, they headed into Day 3 with a 52 run lead. From the play with the bat and ball, the match have been an eventful one, with tempers flaring and the stakes rising across the series decider.
