Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded Union Home Minister Amit Shah's speech on Operation Sindoor in the Lok Sabha, and said his address focuses on the government's efforts towards keeping the country secure.
The Parliament will resume its debate on Operation Sindoor today, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah scheduled to speak in the Lok Sabha around noon.
The discussion began on Monday when Defence Minister Rajnath Singh opened the session, which extended until 1 am on Tuesday.
Congress MP and Deputy Leader in the Lok Sabha, Gaurav Gogoi, also addressed the House, strongly criticising the Centre during his speech. While the debate started in the Lower House, the Rajya Sabha is set to hold a 16-hour-long session on the same issue starting today.
During the Lok Sabha debate on Operation Sindoor, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar clarified that India had no discussions related to trade with the United States while engaging on the Pahalgam terror attack. “At no stage in our conversations with the US (on Pahalgam attack) was there any conversation about trade,” he stated. He also referred to condemnation statements issued by global groupings like the Quad and BRICS regarding the Pahalgam incident. Meanwhile, Gaurav Gogoi criticised the government, pointing out that over 100 days have passed since the April 22 attack, yet the five wanted terrorists remain at large.
Praising PM Modi’s speech on Operation Sindoor, BJP MP Kangana Ranaut said, “PM Narendra Modi has said all that he had to, and he has given a ‘dhamakedaar’ speech.”

PM Narendra Modi says, “Congress has always compromised on national security. Those who are asking today why PoK was not taken back should first answer whose Govt gave the opportunity to Pakistan to capture PoK. The answer is clear. Whenever I mention Nehru ji, Congress and its ecosystem get rattled…’Lamhon ne khata ki, sadiyon ne saza paayi’. To date, the country is suffering the punishment of all the decisions that were taken since independence.” (ANI)
Slamming Congress MP Praniti Shinde’s now-expunged remark in Lok Sabha yesterday, PM Modi said, “She was made to say that Operation Sindoor was a ‘tamasha’. This is like putting acid (on the wounds) of the 26 people killed by terrorists.”
Explaining ‘New Normal’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “Ab hamle ke baad mastermind ko nind nahi aaati, unko pata hain Bharat aayega aur maar kar jayega. This new normal has been set by India. ‘Sindoor se leke Sindhu tak’, we have taken action against Pakistan.”
