In the presence of party president JP Nadda, five Janata Dal (United) MLAs who had merged with the BJP joined the party on Sunday in the nation’s capital.
Kh. Joykishan Singh, Ngursanglur Sanate, Md. Achab Uddin, Thangjam Arunkumar, and LM Khaute joined with the BJP, the Manipur Legislative Assembly Secretariat said on Friday. The merger of five JD(U) MLAs with the BJP pursuant to the tenth schedule of the Constitution has been approved by the Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly, according to a statement from the Legislative Assembly Secretariat.
Nitish Kumar-led Janata Dal (United) in the northeast has received a significant blow as a result of the JD(U) MLAs joining the BJP.
In the most recent Assembly elections, which were held and the results of which were announced on March 10, the Bharatiya Janata Party won a majority of 32 seats in the state Assembly, which is made up of 60 members.
Rajiv Ranjan Lalan Singh, the leader of JDU, said on Saturday that the BJP used its financial might to effect the merger.
Furthermore the head of JDU remarked, “When JDU MLAs joined the BJP in Manipur, the BJP used its financial clout to achieve its goals. The PM views the alliance of the opposition parties as corrupt. They are free to act whatever they choose, but by 2023 JD(U) will have achieved national status.”
The leader of the JDU claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is altering what is considered to be good and corrupt behaviour. Once a corrupt person joins the BJP, they are cleaned and washed.
