Hyderabad was struck by tragedy today as Bharat Rashtra Samithi MLA Lasya Nandita lost her life in a devastating road accident. The 37-year-old, a first-time MLA, sustained fatal injuries when her vehicle veered out of control and collided with a road divider.

Immediately following the accident, Lasya Nandita was rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries. The driver involved in the collision also suffered severe injuries and is currently undergoing medical treatment.

This unfortunate incident comes just ten days after Lasya narrowly escaped another accident in Narkatpally, where she sustained minor injuries. On February 13, while en route to Nalgonda to participate in a rally led by the Chief Minister, another accident occurred, resulting in the tragic death of her home guard.

Lasya Nandita, a significant figure in the political arena, had previously served as a corporator from Kavadiguda since 2016.

Born in 1986 in Hyderabad, Lasya Nandita began her political journey nearly a decade ago. She initially served as a corporator in the Kavadiguda ward before securing her position as an MLA from Secunderabad Cantonment in the 2023 Telangana assembly elections.

Senior BRS leader KT Rama Rao took to social media to express his heartfelt condolences at the sudden demise of Nandita. Following the passing of her father G Sayanna last year, Lasya was entrusted with the responsibility of continuing his legacy. In the November 2023 elections, she emerged victorious after being nominated as the party’s candidate.
