Amidst the frenzy of the academic world’s annual hunt for the perfect university, high school students and their eager parents find themselves lost in a maze of uncertainty. The burning question of ‘which university to apply to’ becomes an incessant mantra echoing through their minds.

While counselors appear as beacons of hope, guiding students through the labyrinth of college applications, their services come at a hefty price, burdening already anxious families with exorbitant fees. It’s a race against time and money, where every decision could mean the difference between securing a future or falling into the abyss of uncertainty.

Considering these challenges, IIT graduates Dirghayu Kaushik, Vikrant Shivalik, and Vaibhav Tyagi brought up “Ambitio.” This innovative platform aims to assist Indian students in securing admission to their desired overseas universities. Ambitio leverages AI technology to provide a free service, aiding students in selecting suitable colleges, completing applications, and crafting compelling personal essays.

Dirghayu- one of the founder of Ambitio, too found himself in the similar situation. He wished to pursue masters but clearly had no knowledge and idea about the same. And when he opted to head out for a counsellor, all he could find was an overpriced option.

And it is this time that ‘Ambitio’ was born.  It is India’s first AI platform to assist applicants secure to top global universities.

Talking to the media, Dirghayu shared that this was not the first time when he opted for entrepreneurship. Post his graduation from IIT-BHU, Dirghayu got into a job in startup.

He shared that initially he was hired as a founding member in the startup and with course of two years he led the entire product development effort, overseeing the establishment of both the tech and product teams from the ground up. While he was employed at the startup, he was simultaneously exploring options for furthering his education.

He mentions that upon completing his graduation, he began researching foreign universities to apply for an MBA. He found the process to be cumbersome and noted the absence of a platform to assist students.

However, the group of three developed the platform and launched it in 2023.

The trio developed the platform and launched it in 2023. They mentioned that they initiated by assembling a cohort of 25 students and then aided them in securing placements at top institutions. Before embarking on product development, they emphasized the importance of refining their profiles.

Since its inception, the platform has facilitated the admission of more than 175 students to renowned international universities including Carnegie Mellon University, NYU, Imperial College London, UC Berkeley, and others.

Ambitio started with a central goal we sought to tackle: streamlining the admissions process for students through the use of AI. He mentions that to accomplish this goal, they created a platform product intended to assist students throughout their entire admissions journey. He further states that their ultimate objective is to establish a comprehensive global AI admissions platform.

In other words, the AI strives to understand and integrate the individual preferences of each student into the recommendations that it provides.

Through the synthesis and analysis of extensive data, the platform is capable of providing personalized recommendations rapidly and seamlessly, thereby conserving valuable time and effort for students.
