The popular porn streaming website Pornhub has gone through a fresh data breach after which the data of 200 million users have been leaked. The hackers have obtained a large set of account records from biggest porn platform. The hackers’ group is known as ShinyHunters claims that they hold the data and now they are seeking payment in Bitcoin, and they have warned that if the company fails to fulfill the demand, they will release the data.
As per the report shared with Bleeping Computers, the leaked data is mainly related to Pornhub premium users, the report also stated that the stolen archive measures about 94GB and include more than 200 million records. The hacking group ShinyHunters has claimed that data has come from Pronhub Premium users and holds information regarding activities linked to user account rather than payment systems.
As per ShinyHunters the data include email addresses, activity type, location data, video link, video titles, search terms, and time stamps. The data shows the users activity whether a user watched or downloaded a video, viewed a channel, or carried out a search on the platform.
The data breach is linked to a separate incident involving Mixpanel, a data analytics service which once worked with Pornhub in past. Mixpanel suffered a security incident in November after attackers gained access. However, Mixpanel has claimed that they have found no evidence that data has been leaked from their system.
The Pornhub has responded to the data leak that the incident did not involve its current premium systems. The company said that the passwords, payment details, and financial information were not exposed. The company’s website reports more than 100 million daily visits and billions of visits each year.
