Various ethnic groups, including members of the Tibetan and Uyghur communities, protested the Chinese government’s human rights violations in the United States’ West Coast town.

Protests were staged on December 10, Human Rights Day, in Seattle, Washington, and Portland, Oregon. Protesters braved terrible weather, including heavy rain and strong gusts, in front of the Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco.

Protests were held on Seattle’s renowned Interstate 5 and in downtown Portland. The agitation against China are being held for the first time in Seattle and Portland.

Protesters in many places were spotted waving blank sheets of paper in solidarity of the recent anti-COVID march in China.

Blank pieces of paper brandished by Chinese demonstrators have become a symbol of a huge movement against Communist-ruled China’s stringent zero-COVID policy.

According to local media reports, white papers are metaphors for the innumerable critical remarks, news stories, and vocal social media accounts that have been removed off the internet.

China’s assault on anti-COVID rallies has triggered global demands to join with the demonstrators and take action against the Chinese government.

These demonstrations occurred on International Anti-Corruption Day, and the United States is taking the following activities to encourage accountability for corruption and human rights violations across the world on the eve of International Human Rights Day.

The US Treasury Department issued sanctions on two Chinese officials on Friday for significant human rights violations in the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR). The list includes Chinese officials Wu Yingjie (Wu) and Zhang Hongbo (Zhang).

According to the US Treasury Department, Wu Yingjie was the TAR Party Secretary from 2016 and 2021 and instructed government personnel to participate in stability initiatives.
