PATNA: Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has been expelled from his party; however, the leader has denied resigning from his post as the CM.

On Sunday, Manjhi had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and reportedly talked about the situation in Bihar. He is accused by his Janata Dal Unit (JDU) of anti-party activities, sources inform.

PM Modi and his BJP is further accused of helping Manjhi by the JD(U).

Post his 40 minutes meeting with Narendra Modi, Bihar CM expressed, “I am the Chief Minister and will be here until the legislature decides otherwise.” He further added that whoever gives us support on the floor of the assembly, we will take it.

Manjhi said that he has asked for the support from the PM in Bihar but ‘we are only talking about development,’ he claimed.

The sources from JDU claim that Manjhi was plotting to stay in power with BJP and gather numbers for a show of strength.

Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi claims to step down if he fails to prove his majority. He taunted Nitish Kumar for the poor performance of his party in the national elections. “If he has (Nitish Kumar) numbers, why is so much worried,” asked Manjhi.

The party opted for Nitish Kumar as its Chief Ministerial candidate nominee and according to the reports, he is likely to stake claim today.
