MBBS student who was killed at Bandstand by accused Mithu Singh visited him twice a month before the alleged event.

The 22-year-old JJ Medical College MBBS student who was reportedly killed at Bandstand by accused Mithu Singh visited him twice a month before the alleged event at his hotel Meeth’s Kitchen at Bandstand. She had casually conversed with him while eating there.

There has been a frenzy of action in the previous several days, with the investigation being trapped at a dead end when a lie-detector test on lifeguard Mittu Sukhdev Singh (32) she was last seen with did not provide any results. Last Friday, the Mumbai crime branch (Unit IX) said that Singh had been detained in connection with the case, stating that they had adequate evidence to request his detention.

The next day, they detained Abdul Jabbar Ansari (36), who they said helped Singh destroy evidence.

The police on Thursday claimed that Singh during sustained interrogation said that Sadichacha was dead and that he had disposed of her body “100-150 metres in the sea” on November 29, when she was reported missing.

On Saturday, the accused Singh and his friend Abdul Jabbar Ansari appeared in front of the Killa court. The Crime Branch has now added Sections 302 (murder), 201 (evidence destruction), and 34 (common intention) to the IPC, and is investigating the motive for her death. On January 20, public prosecutor MS Chaudhary informed the court of a significant development. He stated that he cannot provide the facts in open court, so he presented a journal for the judge to peruse and requested five days in detention.

Meanwhile, Adv Harshman Chavan, standing for the accused, made severe charges of police torture and requested video from the CCTV camera of Mumbai Crime Branch unit nine. “They have tortured every member of the family, even little children. Ansari’s daughter even failed her Class V final examinations, according to Chavan. When the court questioned both of the accused if they had any complaints against the police, they both denied it. Their detention has been prolonged by the court until January 25.
