The programme drew viewers from a range of demographics and religious perspectives. Additionally, a number of college students and students from higher secondary schools attended the lecture. Chairman of the JK People’s Justice Front Aga Syed Abass Rizvi addressed the audience and referred to India as his “mother” while criticising Pakistan for carrying out targeted killings there.
“In contrast, target killings of minorities, particularly Shia Muslims, are widespread in Pakistan. India is like a mother where all religions coexist together. Only 20% of Pakistan’s population is Shia, according to official figures. Despite the fact that they are also Muslims, the Shia population is not treated equally in the state of Pakistan “he said.
Syed Mubashir Kazimi, the chief coordinator of the JK People’s Justice Front, also blasted Pakistan for its attacks on sacred sites, claiming that “there is no record of bombings in the holy locations of minorities in India, however, it is common in Pakistan.”
Another well-known figure, Sheikh Abdullah Jaleeli, stated that “Any sort of drunkenness is Haram in Islam, yet Pakistan makes all-out attempts to promote drugs into our society and drugs are harming the younger generation. We all have to join together and unitedly battle this evil.”
India-Iran links were emphasised by Sheikh Muhammad Hussain Lutfi of the Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust in Kargil, who said, “India-Iran relationship has always been strong since time immemorial and it should further be enhanced.”
In order to further solidify the Indo-Iranian friendship, he said that other ambassadors in charge of religion, culture, and education will travel to Kargil and the Kashmir valley.
The seminar’s chief guest, Syed Mohammad Kazim Sabiri, referred to India as Iran’s most reliable ally.
India had always been a dependable friend to Iran and its people, and he said that friendship should be maintained and strengthened at all costs. “India contributed technology to Iran at a time when it was most in need,” he added.
Aqleemah Banoo, a religious scholar and instructor at a nearby Maktab, also addressed the audience and emphasised the need to provide the girls with additional opportunities to show the outside world that the Shia community is progressive, in contrast to what is occurring in our neighbourhood.
Other speakers who participated in the programme were Syed Tayyeb Rizvi of Anjumane Sahib Zaman, Moulana Zahid Hussain of Anjumane Sufi Noorbakshia, Sajjad Hussain Kargili a well-known social activist, and Mohammad Sajjad Khan of a public speaker.
