The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has announced that the Maharashtra HSC exams for 2024 will commence today, February 21, with the English examination marking the beginning of the schedule. These Class 12 board exams are scheduled to conclude on March 19 with the Sociology paper.

Students appearing for the Maharashtra HSC exams will be following a two-shift schedule – from 11 am to 2 pm and from 3 pm to 6 pm.

In a recent statement, Sharad Gosavi, the chairperson of the board, emphasized that schools are not permitted to prevent students from taking the HSC examination or withhold their hall tickets due to non-payment of fees. He cautioned that any such action taken by schools would have consequences.

To ensure the integrity of the examinations, Gosavi mentioned, “Examiners have been appointed at examination centres to prevent malpractices. Teams from the revenue and police administration have also been deployed for this purpose. It is crucial for students to adhere to the scheduled time for the examination, as late arrivals will not be admitted.”

The board has assured that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure the safe and smooth conduct of the examinations.

This year, a total of 15,13,909 students are expected to appear for the Maharashtra HSC exam, indicating an increase of 56,616 compared to the previous year’s figures. In 2023, a total of 1,457,293 students had appeared for the exam. Students are advised to follow the exam schedule and guidelines provided by the board for a successful examination experience.
