Ajay Devgn’s ‘Shaitaan’, one of the most promising films of the month, opened in theatres on March 8 much to the delight of fans. The horror-thriller has impressed movie buffs on the social media platform X, which was  formerly known as Twitter. The audience has given the thumbs up to the chilling storyline and the haunting pre-interval sequence

Here are some of the X reactions.

Not just fans but critics too have praised ‘Shaitaan’. Taran Adarsh lauded it for its ‘unpredictable twists and turns’.

“Drama. Thrills. Chills. Shock-value. All enveloped in a near-perfect, captivating plot… This is supernatural genre done right… Unpredictable twists and turns are a big plus… Watch it! #ShaitaanReview,” he wrote on X.

Similarly, Sumit Kadel called it a ‘masterpiece’ that may set new standards for the horror genre in Hindi cinema.

“#Shaitaan emerges as a chilling MASTERPIECE in the realm of supernatural thrillers, setting a new standard for Hindi cinema in the genre.,” he wrote.

Additionally, Christopher Kanagaraj pointed out that the film’s background score enhances the already ‘engaging’ screenplay’s impact.

“Story happens in one night. Maddy is Fantastic. Gud Perf frm tat Girl. Expression less Ajay Devgn. Jyotika ok. Engaging screenplay with thrills. Intense BGM. Interesting till pre climax; Film Dips towards the end. GOOD,” read his post.

‘Shaitaan’, directed by Vikas Behl, revolves around the clash between the good and evil. Besides Ajay Devgn, the cast includes R Madhavan and Jyotika. It is produced under Jio Studios, Devgn Films, and Panorama Studios

This is Devgn’s first release after ‘Bholaa’, which hit screens last year. Post ‘Shaitaan’, he will be seen in Maidaan. The sports drama features him as Syed Abdul Rahim, one of the pioneers of Indian football. It stars Priyamani as the leading lady. ‘Maidaan’ is set to open in theatres this Eid. It will face competition from Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s Bade ‘Miyan Chote Miyan’, slated to release around the same time.
