Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia claimed that the central government is not worried about any excise duty, it is Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal that they are worried about as the Bhartiya Janta Party sees Arvind Kejriwal as the main challenger in the upcoming general election.

Manish Sisodia unleashed a harsh attack on the centre and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for “misusing” the central agencies a day after the CBI raided his office on charges of corruption in the liquor policy.

In a press conference, Manish Sisodia, who also oversees the Excise Department, claimed that CBI agents were sent to raid his residence by the “high command.” Arvind Kejriwal, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), was to be stopped, according to him, because his work in the fields of education and health is well-known around the world.

Arvind Kejriwal is seen as the main challenger to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the upcoming general election, according to Mr. Sisodia, who also added that the 2024 election will be a contest between the AAP and the BJP. “The BJP-ruled central government is not worried about any excise fraud, it is worried about Arvind Kejriwal,” he said.

Mr. Sisodia asserted that the Excise Policy was carried out in total transparency and denied any impropriety. The minister added that although he will almost certainly be detained in the upcoming days, his party will continue to carry out its noble goals.

He emphasised that the New York Times’ front-page praise for the Delhi educational program on Thursday infuriated the centre.

Anurag Thakur, a union minister, claimed today that Arvind Kejriwal is the mastermind behind the liquor “scam,” while Manish Sisodia is merely a suspect. Regarding AAP’s assertion that it will be the primary opponent of the BJP in the general election of 2024, Mr. Thakur stated, “AAP made tall claims earlier too, but could not stand before PM Modi.”

Along with Mr. Sisodia’s residence in Delhi, the CBI also searched 31 other places in seven different states. The CBI’s FIR on violations of the liquor regulation names Mr. Sisodia as the first of 15 accused. The 11-page document lists the following offences: corruption, criminal conspiracy, and account falsification.

The CBI alleged in its FIR that a liquor trader gave one crore rupees to a business run by Mr. Sisodia’s colleague. According to the investigation agency, intermediaries and alcohol distributors “actively participated in irregularities in the framing and implementation” of the excise policy.

He took to Twitter to slam the centre over the lookout notice been issued over the unavailability of the Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister. He said ” After you couldn’t find anything in the raids, now you have issued a lookout notice that Manish sisodia is missing? what gimmick is this Modi Ji?”
