Senator Jon Ossoff will lead an eight-day economic delegation to India beginning August 30 in an effort to strengthen relations between India and the United States.

In a recent video message, US Senator Ossoff congratulated the Indian people on the historic occasion of India’s 75th anniversary of independence. “I’m coming to strengthen our friendship and meet the next generation of Indian leaders,” Ossoff said.

Ossoff, 35, is the youngest United States Senator elected in three decades.

According to an official statement from his office, United States Senator Jon Ossoff of Georgia will lead an eight-day economic delegation to India.

The delegation will arrive in Mumbai on August 30, 2022, and will leave New Delhi on September 6, 2022.

“We will also work to represent the Indian American community in Georgia,” Senator Ossoff added.

Senator Ossoff, 35, is the youngest United States Senator elected in three decades. Senator Ossoff’s visit will focus on strengthening economic, scientific, cultural, and security connections between the United States and India.

Over 100,000 Indian Americans live in Georgia, which Senator Ossoff represents in the United States Senate. Senator Ossoff addressed a letter to the Indian people this week on the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence Day, emphasising the significance of strengthening ties between the two countries.

Prior to his election, Senator Ossoff led a team of worldwide news companies that investigated and exposed corruption, war crimes, and terrorism. In 2021, he won a key underdog race to ensure the Democratic Party’s Senate majority.

Senator Ossoff has written and passed legislation to strengthen civil rights, boost domestic solar energy manufacturing, and improve public health during his first two years in office, while also leading bipartisan investigations of abuse and corruption as Chairman of the Senate’s Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations.
