A member of the governing Janata Dal-United in Bihar asserted today that Nitish Kumar is not running for prime minister if the opposition beats the BJP in 2024.
A day after Tejashwi Yadav, the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, described Nitish Kumar as a “strong candidate” for the position of Prime Minister in 2024, JDU leader Lalan Singh stated, “We don’t see him as Prime Minister.”

“Nitish Kumar is not a contender for prime minister, as both of us and he has stated time and time again. He does, however, possess all of the traits of a prime minister “said he.

The Chief Minister’s close aide Lalan Singh stated that it was more crucial to concentrate on opposition unity than on who would become prime minister. “To defeat the BJP, we think Nitish Kumar should endeavour to bring all opposition parties together. Anyone might become prime minister if the BJP is defeated “said the national president of JDU.
When Tejashwi Yadav’s comments were brought up, Mr. Singh responded, “I agree, Nitish Kumar is PM-material, but he is not a Prime Minister candidate.”

In an interview with the news outlet, Tejashwi Yadav expressed his opinion that Nitish Kumar is a solid contender for prime minister due to his extensive expertise and decent character.

“I can’t pretend to speak for the entire opposition, but respected Nitish ji may be a strong contender if taken into consideration. Kumar has extensive legislative and administrative experience spanning more than 37 years and is incredibly well-liked by both his peers and the general public “RJD leader’s words.

Earlier, Mr. Kumar had denied rumours that he wanted to become prime minister. “I’m saying this with my hands folded since I have no such ideas. Working for everyone is my job. I’ll do my best to ensure that the opposition parties cooperate “He had informed a news agency.

After breaking up his partnership with the BJP and forming a new coalition with Tejashwi Yadav’s RJD and other opposition parties, he made the remarks. As his deputy, Tejashwi Yadav was sworn in.

Following his split from the BJP and “return” to the opposition, Nitish Kumar was once again being discussed as a potential consensus candidate for the general election in 2024.

A stinging Nitish Kumar has been charged by the BJP with treachery. BJP Union Minister Giriraj Singh laughed mockingly: “Despite taking the oath eight times and serving as Chief Minister for so long, he was never able to form a government on his own even once. How can he be PM material when he isn’t even Chief Minister material?”
