While addressing the press conference in New Delhi at 9:30 am, Rahul Gandhi declared that democracy is dead and we are witnessing a dictatorship.

While the party workers, MPs, and senior leaders are staging mass nationwide protests against unemployment, inflation, and GST hike. The senior leaders, along with the party workers were seen donning black as a sign of protest at the parliament.
Sonia Gandhi was seen leading the protest along with the party workers in front of the parliament. Rahul Gandhi joined the protest at the parliament and was seen, in a change of attire matching with the Congress MPs. Priyanka Gandhi arrived at the party headquarters in Delhi.


Even senior leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge wore a black kurta and turban to mark the protest. Mallikarjun Kharge was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the money laundering case involving the young Indian Limited office located in the National Herald building.

Both Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi were shortly taken under custody for protesting.
