In conjunction with its investigation into Pakistani drones dumping weaponry along the international border, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has conducted searches in five districts of Jammu and Kashmir, according to an official.
In connection with the case involving the interception of a drone used for delivery of consignments of weapons, ammunition, and explosives by a key module of The Resistance Front (TRF), a branch of Lashkar-e-Taiba, searches were conducted at eight locations on Thursday in Jammu, Srinagar, Kathua, Samba, and Doda districts (LeT).
According to a spokesperson, the TRF agents were carrying out their tasks at the direction of their Pakistani masters.
According to the NIA, “the searches carried out today have resulted in the recovery of various incriminating material, digital devices, and documents.”
The spokesperson claimed that TRF agents were in daily contact with the LeT’s Pakistani handlers and were using drones to transport weapons and other terrorist equipment into Indian territory close to the Samba International Border.
The official claimed that “these weapon consignments were additionally delivered to TRF terrorists in Kashmir for carrying out terrorist attacks against minorities, migrants, and security forces.”
The case was re-registered by the NIA on July 30 after being initially registered at Kathua’s Rajbagh Police Station on May 29.
Four homes in the Marheen area were the target of NIA raids, according to officials in Kathua.
Similar raids were conducted at a home in Jammu’s Talab Khatikan and the Doda district’s Kharoa-Bhalla.
With the arrest of seven LeT members, including their leader Faisal Muneer of Khatikan Talab, police smashed a LeT module last month.
The module, which was in use for more than two years, was involved in gathering and transporting explosives and weapons dropped by drones from the Pakistani side of the International Border.
