Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath’s arrival in Delhi, accompanied by his son Nakul Nath, has sparked rumors of the veteran Congress leader’s possible defection to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Speculation intensified after Narendra Saluja, a former Congress leader and BJP state spokesperson, posted a picture of Kamal Nath and Nakul Nath with the caption ‘Jai Shree Ram’ on social media ahead of their arrival in Delhi.

Adding fuel to the fire, reports emerged that Nakul Nath, Member of Parliament from Chhindwara, had allegedly removed ‘Congress’ from his social media bio. However, the removal has not been officially confirmed, with some claiming that he never mentioned Congress in his bio.

Responding to the rumors, veteran Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Digvijaya Singh sought to downplay the speculations, stating that he had spoken to Kamal Nath on Friday night, confirming Nath’s presence in Chhindwara. Singh emphasized Nath’s longstanding association with the Nehru-Gandhi family and the Congress party, suggesting it unlikely for him to defect.

Similarly, AICC in-charge of Madhya Pradesh Jitendra Singh expressed skepticism about Kamal Nath leaving the Congress, citing his extensive history with the party, dating back to his association with Sanjay Gandhi.

However, BJP state president VD Sharma acknowledged the rumors during a press conference in Bhopal, stating that the BJP has kept its doors open for individuals disenchanted with the Congress. Sharma emphasized the sentiment among some Congress members who feel marginalized by the party’s stance on issues like Lord Ram, suggesting they would be welcomed into the BJP fold.

As speculation continues to swirl, Kamal Nath’s potential shift to the BJP remains a topic of keen interest in political circles, with observers closely monitoring developments surrounding the veteran leader’s future political trajectory.
