Himachal Polls Results: Congress Sending Top Leaders to Chandigarh Amidst Poaching Buzz

Congress is hurrying Chhattisgarh CM Baghel, who is also an observer for the Himachal polls, to the hill state where the party is set to win.

Bhupesh Baghel, the chief minister of Chhattisgarh, is heading to Himachal, where the party appears to have a good chance of winning, along with other top figures including Bhupinder Hooda and Rajiv Shukla, who is the party’s Congress in-charge.

Speaking to reporters today, Baghel stated that there were concerns about Congress MLAs being poached. Hooda is already in Chandigarh, and Baghel and Shukla will get there later today.

Tajinder Singh Bittu, the Congress representative for Himachal, stated, “We are bringing our leaders to Chandigarh and sealing our doors and windows since the BJP would try to poach, as they have done many times in the past.”

Trends from the Election Commission show that the BJP is in the lead on 18 seats, with Congress leading on 39 of the 68 total seats. For a party to establish a claim to forming the government in the 68-member Himachal Pradesh legislative Assembly, they must obtain 35 of the required majority seats.

“We should wait till the very end of the counting, but it is already clear that our government will be established in Himachal Pradesh, as we had anticipated. I have been designated as Himachal Pradesh’s observer, therefore I will travel there today through Delhi.”

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had claimed that the Congress era was coming to an end and that the AAP would take power, but that claim has since been abandoned, according to Baghel.

The chief minister said, “We are learning that the AAP is the B squad of the Bharatiya Janata Party, gradually.”

When discussing the Gujarat election, the chief minister of Chhattisgarh remarked, “We ought to hold off till the count is complete. like I mentioned regarding Himachal. The second and third rounds differ since it is unknown which region’s box is open, and because Gujarat is a large state, there will be many rounds, therefore we should wait until the very end.”

Baghel also provided commentary on the Bhanupratappur by-election by-votes, saying, “Savitri Mandavi, a candidate for the Congress, is in the lead in Bhanupratappur, demonstrating that voter confidence is still high. Manoj Mandavi’s efforts are being defended. The BJP is making a valiant effort to take second and third.”
