Muslim Leaders Urge PM Modi for ‘Sufi Circuit’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in discussions with leaders of the BJP Minority Morcha and other Muslim religious leaders during a recent meeting at his residence in the national capital, sources reported. The focus of the conversation was the establishment of a Sufi circuit in the country. Prime Minister Modi, expressing enthusiasm for the idea, suggested that the leaders collaborate with the Union Minority Affairs Minister to formulate a detailed plan. Sources indicated that the inaugural meeting on the Sufi circuit is anticipated to take place in February, involving Union Minority Minister Smriti Irani and Muslim religious leaders.

In a separate event, Prime Minister Modi presented a ‘Chadar’ for the upcoming 812th Urs of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti at the Ajmer Sharif Dargah. The Chadar was handed over to Bharatiya Janata Party Minority Morcha national president Jamaal Siddiqui during the meeting. The delegation, including Union Minister of Minority Affairs Smriti Irani and other dignitaries, is scheduled to visit Ajmer to present the Chadar on behalf of the Prime Minister during the annual Urs festival commemorating the death anniversary of Sufi saint Moinuddin Chishti.

The gathering at the Prime Minister’s residence also included Syed Farid Nizami (Nizamuddin Auliya Dargah), Salman Chishti (Ajmer Sharif), party national vice president Tariq Mansoor, and Kausar Jahan, the chairman of the Delhi Haj Committee. The Prime Minister’s engagement underscores the government’s commitment to fostering cultural and religious inclusivity.
