Sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik’s Santa Claus sculpture has got a place in the Limca Book of Records as the world’s largest sand sculpture.

Patnaik said Limca Book senior editor Arthy Muthanna Singh informed him on Tuesday that his 45-foot-tall Santa Claus was declared as the world’s largest sand Santa.
Patnaik had created the sculpture at the Puri beach on the eve of Christmas.
Pattnaik, who was assisted by 20 of his students from the Sudarsan Sand Art Institute of Puri, took 22 hours to build the mammoth structure, which will be on display till January 1.
Pattnaik created this 45-feet high sand Santa Claus with the message of ‘World Peace.’ He had also created sculptures of Jesus and Mother Mary near Santa Claus.
Sudarsan had appealed to the Limca Book of Records to place this record on their book as they had broken their previous record. By getting recognition from Limca Book of Records, this Christmas has surely turned out to be lucky for the famous sand artist, Sudarsan Pattnaik.
