On Sunday, the district administration authorities in Haryana’s Nuh continued their crackdown on illegal constructions and demolished a restaurant-cum-hotel, which was allegedly used by hooligans to incite violence during recent clashes in the district. A team of police personnel was deployed in the area to oversee the demolition process.

Vinesh Kumar, the district town planner, stated that the ‘Sahara Family Restaurant’ had been constructed without proper authorization and had received prior notices from the government and the department. This building was identified as the location from which hooligans had pelted stones during a religious procession.

The previous day, the Nuh district administration had already razed over 45 “illegal” shops in the Nalhar Road area. The violence that erupted between two groups on July 31 in Nuh resulted in six fatalities, including two Home Guards. In response to the situation, internet services in Nuh have been suspended and are set to remain so until Tuesday.

As a result of the violence and rioting, the Haryana police have arrested 141 individuals and registered 55 FIRs. The toll from the clashes stands at six deaths, including two police home guards, while 88 others were injured. The authorities are taking firm action to curb illegal constructions and maintain peace in the region.
