Earlier, Shubman Gill (70) and Washington Sundar (55) were the top scorers for GT against the Capitals. The two batters, along with Jos Buttler (52), powered the visitors to a score of 210 runs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Lungi Ngidi was the pick among the bowlers, giving away only 24 runs in his four overs, while picking up the crucial wicket of Gill.

His strike rate of 163.26 in the two clashes has meant that he has been putting the bowlers under pressure. He ranks second on the list for most runs scored in the season behind Yashasvi Jaiswal, who has played an extra game. 

Meanwhile, Natarajan and Lungi Ngidi have been the standout performers with the ball in hand. The two pacers have picked up four wickets each in the two games. Their economy of less than eight runs per over stands out as a prominent reason for DC’s dominance so far.

Gujarat Titans’ start to the IPL 2026 season has been pretty poor to say the least. The champions from 2022 have failed to win their first two games of the season. They lost to a well-rounded Punjab Kings in their opening game. In their second clash, GT was put on the back foot before the game against the Rajasthan Royals began. Their skipper, Shubman Gill, suffering from a spasm, had been sidelined from the clash. Rashid Khan led in Gill’s absence as GT lost in the final over at home.
