Ever since actor-director Farhan Akhtar revealed that he and Ranveer Singh would be appearing in Don 3 in 2023, rumors have circulated regarding who would play the movie’s female lead. Kiara Advani will be joining the Don franchise opposite Ranveer, Akhtar revealed on Tuesday, ending all rumors. Priyanka Chopra previously portrayed Shah Rukh Khan’s female lead in Don 2. Excel Entertainment posted on social media on Monday, teasing the special announcement: “Welcome to the Don universe @kiaraaliaadvani #Don3.” Neither the character Kiara is playing nor her first glimpse from the movie are disclosed in the announcement video. It does, however, hint that the recognizable theme song from the franchise is still present.

Kiara was recently spotted at the Excel Entertainment office, which sparked rumors that she was a part of the popular franchise. In response to a question concerning her casting in Don 3, Akhtar stated, “Well, it’s all work in progress.” I don’t want to jump ahead of myself and say something that I might have to retract for any other reason, but you’ll be informed as soon as it occurs.

Fans of Shah Rukh Khan, who portrayed Don in the previous two films in the franchise, were very critical of Ranveer and the filmmakers when it was revealed that he would be the main actor in Don 3. However, Akhtar gave the audience his word that Raveen would perform a “great job.” As he stated to the BBC, “It really comes down to an actor taking on the role, making it their own, adding their own flair and style.” And he possesses that abundantly. He will therefore do a fantastic job. I believe that I now have a greater obligation to ensure that the screenplay and the movie turn out as I had envisioned. Don 3 is going to strike.
