'Naram Kaalja' Song From 'Amar Singh Chamkila', Starring Diljit And Parineeti, Released

Directed by Imtiaz Ali, ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’ portrays the untold true story of Punjab’s original rockstar, who rose from poverty to immense popularity in the 1980s with his powerful music, stirring controversy along the way, ultimately leading to his tragic assassination at the age of 27.

A new song titled ‘Naram Kaalja’ from the movie ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’, starring Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra, has been released. Sung by Diljit, the song is a playful tribute to the female fans of Amar Singh Chamkila, who is renowned as one of Punjab’s greatest live stage performers.

With music composed by the maestro AR Rahman and lyrics penned by Irshad Kamil, ‘Naram Kaalija’ features vocals by Alka Yagnik, Richa Sharma, Pooja Tiwari, and Yashika Sikka.

The film is scheduled to premiere on the OTT platform Netflix on April 12 and has been produced by Mohit Choudhary, Select Media Holdings LLP, Saregama, and Window Seat Films, with its music available on Saregama.

Director Imtiaz Ali expressed his satisfaction with the unique journey of bringing Chamkila’s story to the screen, praising the performances of Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra, particularly their live singing. Diljit Dosanjh shared his excitement for portraying Amar Singh Chamkila, emphasizing his pleasure in collaborating with the talented team and singing to AR Rahman’s music.

Parineeti Chopra also expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to play Amarjot, Chamkila’s wife and singing partner, describing the experience as enriching. She highlighted the privilege of working with Diljit and the legendary AR Rahman, expressing confidence that the film’s global release on Netflix will resonate with audiences worldwide.
