This year, the effigy of “Raavan” will be burned by South Superstar Prabhas at Delhi’s renowned Lav Kush Ramlila.

The Lav Kush Ramlila committee will once again be entertaining thousands of guests starting on September 26 during the raucous celebrations of Dussehra in Delhi. This year, the committee, which is renowned for creating some of the most original “Pandal” concepts, will create a pandal on the Red Fort grounds with a Ram Mandir theme. The celebration on Vijayadashami, which falls on October 5 this year, will include Prabhas.

“Since Prabhas is already portraying Lord Rama in the upcoming film Adipurush, who better than him to light the evilness of Raavan on fire this Dussehra,” Arjun Kumar, the head of the Lav Kush Ramlila committee said.

Raavan, Kumbh Karan, and Meghnaad will each have an effigy, and Prabhas will launch his arrow into the air to burn them all off, he continued.

The effigies at the pandal will be 100 feet tall this year.

Ajay Devgn and John Abraham, among others, have previously attended the committee’s spectacular events.
In terms of the festival schedule, the 10-day Dussehra celebrations will start on September 26 and finish on October 5.

Every year, Dussehra is observed to remember the day when Lord Ram slew Ravana, symbolising the victory of good over evil.

The day, also known as Vijayadashami, is celebrated in various areas to commemorate Goddess Durga’s victory over the buffalo Demon Mahishasura.

When the Dashami Tithi (10th date) of the Shukla Paksha (bright fortnight) of the Ashwin month occurs in the Aparahan Kaal, it is called Dussehra.
