Salman Khan's 'Wanted' to Get a Sequel? Boney Kapoor Shares an Update

‘Wanted’, which hit screens in 2009, emerged as a massive hit at the box office and established ‘Bhai’ as the undisputed choice of the masses. The film, a remake of Mahesh Babu’s ‘Pokiri’, featured stylish action sequences and unforgettable punch dialogues. Now, it appears, the actioner is set to get a sequel.

 In an interview with News 18, producer Boney Kapoor revealed that Salman is interested in doing ‘Wanted 2’ whenever it happens. 

“Wanted, I’ve spoken to Salman. I don’t know when that will happen but he has committed to me that he’ll do it whenever I decide, whenever I get the right script. This is the last conversation I had when I had gone to him to tell him that I’m going with No Entry with a fresh star cast.”

‘Wanted’ featured Salman in the role of an undercover cop and helped him score a much-needed hit after a slew of forgettable releases. It was directed by Prabhudeva and marked his first collaboration with Bollywood’s ‘Sultan’. The cast included Ayesha Takia, Prakash Raj, and the late Vinod Khanna. One can expect updates about ‘Wanted 2’ after the script is ready.

Coming to the present, Boney Kapoor is currently awaiting the release of ‘Maidaan’. The sports drama is set to hit screens on April 10. It stars Ajay Devgn and Priyamani in the lead. The film revolves around the life of Rahim Saab, one of the pillars of Indian football, It has been delayed many but is finally set to clash with ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ this Eid. 

Boney Kapoor will also be working on ‘No Entry 2’. The sequel features a fresh cast headlined by Arjun Kapoor and Diljit Dosanjh. 

Salman, on the other hand, has a film with AR Murugadoss in his kitty.
