With the impending Lok Sabha elections in 2024 in mind, the Aam Aadmi Party on Tuesday selected veteran politician and Rajya Sabha member Sandeep Pathak as the National General Secretary Organization (Rashtriya Sangathan Mahamantri).
Pathak will also be a Permanent Invitee to the party’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC), per an official announcement. “Dr. Sandeep Pathak is appointed as the Rashtriya Sangathan Mahamantri by the Aam Aadmi Party (National General Secretary Organisation). During the assembly elections in Gujarat and Punjab, Pathak was the party’s election coordinator.
The AAP was given the title of “national party” after securing five seats in Gujarat.
Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi Chief Minister and national convenor of the AAP declared on December 8 that his 10-year-old organisation had transformed into a “national party” after receiving over 13% of the vote in the Gujarat Assembly elections.

After Party won the Punjab elections, Pathak joined the AAP in the Rajya Sabha. He works as an assistant professor at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi’s Department of Energy Science and Engineering.
