A wall collapsed in the Noida housing society, sector 21 on Tuesday morning. 4 people died whereas 9 were rescued from the debris. The dead are said to be labourers hailing from the Badaun district.

The incident took place around 10 am after the boundary wall of the Jal Vayu Vihar Society collapsed.

The wall collapsed during the cleaning of a drain nearby under the Noida authority, according to Noida District Magistrate, Suhas LY.

9 workers were rescued whereas search operations by the personnel of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Fire Brigade teams are being conducted.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered senior officials to get to the scene right once after expressing grief at the incident’s fatalities.

Joint Commissioner, Love Kumar along with several senior officers visited the spot. Commissioner of Police, Noida said, “Unfortunately, four people died whereas 9 people were shifted to a hospital for better treatment. NDRF and Fire Brigade teams are conducting the last search mission. An FIR will be filed and action will be taken regarding the same”.

There will be a detailed investigation to discover the cause of the wall’s collapse, said DM, Noida. One of the injured is undergoing treatment at the district hospital, he added.
