Haryana BJP leader and actor, Sonali Phogat’s autopsy confirmed blunt injuries on the body. Family members on Thursday raised suspicion that she was raped before she was murdered. Her brother Rinku claimed that the plan also included taking her to Goa, where she was shot on August 24 but where the hotel rooms were reserved for August 21–22. She was rushed to the St. Anthony Hospital in Anjuna, North Goa, on August 22 after feeling uneasy post eating, and there she was pronounced dead.
“We always felt that there was foul play and the same thing came out. So far, we are satisfied with the ongoing investigation… We demand justice,” said Rinku, brother of Sonali Phogat.
According to Sonali Phogat’s family, the two of her personal assistants are the main suspects in the case. They were both taken into custody. Sonali Phogat’s brother had previously asserted that three years prior, one of Sonali Phogat’s assistants had sexually abused her, spiked her food, and then blackmailed her.
Several blunt force injuries were found throughout her body, according to the autopsy report that was released on Thursday. “Histopathology and serological reports of the tissues preserved,” the report said.
