A ruling TRS functionary was allegedly stabbed to death on Monday in a village in Telangana’s Khammam district. Tammineni Krishnaiah, the deceased, was returning from an Independence Day flag hoisting ceremony when the tragedy occurred.


Following the tragedy, authorities enforced Section 144 on the area.


According to authorities, four unidentified individuals in a vehicle followed and stopped Krishnaiah’s bike near Teladurapally village before stabbing him and fleeing the area. Special teams have been constituted to track down the perpetrators.


Meanwhile, followers of the dead attempted to throw stones at the home of a guy from another political party who was fleeing on suspicion of participation. The absconding man’s home is near the location of the crime. However, police were able to bring the situation under control, official to the news agency.


There are claims concerning the absconding man’s participation, and the details, including the motivation for the murder, would be revealed following an inquiry, according to the official.

On Independence Day, two people were injured in Telangana after supporters of the ruling TRS and the BJP clashed during state BJP president and MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar’s ongoing ‘padayatra’ in the Jangaon district.
The conflict, which included stone-pelting, took place in the area of Devaruppala, and two people were injured, according to police. Both parties are likely to file police reports regarding the event. Kumar, who resumed his ‘padayatra’ following the incident, said that “TRS thugs” threw stones, injuring two BJP volunteers.
