Ajit Pawar Funeral LIVE Updates: Ajit Pawar, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra and a senior NCP leader, was cremated on Thursday, a day after he was killed in a plane crash. Many senior leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, BJP chief Nitin Nabin, and NCP patriarch Sharad Pawar, attended the last rites.

Pawar was travelling to his constituency to attend a public rally for the Zilla Parishad elections when the aircraft faced poor visibility during its final approach. The plane crashed on landing and caught fire, killing all 5 people on board, including Pawar, his personal staff, and two crew members.

Aviation authorities have initiated a detailed probe into the incident. The Maharashtra government has announced 3 days of state mourning to honour the veteran leader, popularly known as ‘Dada’. Pawar’s death marks the end of a significant era in the state’s political landscape.
