The summer transfer window of 2025 (split between June 1–10 for Club World Cup participants, then reopening from June 16–September 1) was one of highest spending periods across Europe. Liverpool broke not just their own British record signing Florian Wirtz for an increased £100 million (£116 m total), while securing Hugo Ekitike and Milos Kerkez. Manchester United bought Matheus Cunha for £62.5 m and Bryan Mbeumo (~£70 m) to bolster their attacking options. Real Madrid paid Dean Huijsen’s €50 m release clause, while Arsenal executed a significant investment with Zubimendi, Noni Madueke, Kepa Arrizabalaga, and others, amounting to over £119 m. Chelsea again procured youth with Joao Pedro, Essugo, and Estevao Willian all arriving. Subsequently, clubs like Manchester City added Tijjani Reijnders, Omar Marmoush and additionals players too, further bulking their depth and quality. The market was overflowing with record moves, ambition in the areas of rebuilding, and grandiose fees (over £1.5 billion) were spent amongst the continents elite leagues.
Despite rumours, Tottenham was never serious or concrete in their talks for Ilya Zabarnyi, so Paris Saint Germain is willing to move quickly for him. Zabarnyi wants PSG, and Bournemouth is talking about the add-ons structure. Nearly there.

Paris Saint Germain is getting close to completing the Lucas Chevalier contract. The formal bid was €40 million; Lille wants add ons, but the two presidents are now finalizing. As agreed upon, Chevalier will sign a five year deal with PSG, preparing the French custodian for his next passage in life. As PSG still has not come to an agreement on a new contract with Gigio Donnarumma, whose current deal expires in June 2026, Paris also hit hard on Chevalier.
Newcastle has set up a new round of negotiations in an attempt to finalise the Southampton deal involving Aaron Ramsdale. Agreement closure, significant loan costs, and a buyout clause are all included.
Jorrel Hato has told Ajax that joining Chelsea is his first priority and ideal move, and his project view has been approved. After reaching a personal terms agreement last week, the deal with Ajax for the defender is already in advanced stages.
