Bharat Jodo Yatra Completes 100 Days, Top Brass Extends Wishes

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge congratulated the populace on the 100-day Bharat Jodo Yatra’s conclusion.

Mallikarjun Kharge, the president of Congress, hailed the populace on Saturday for getting through the entire 100-day Bharat Jodo Yatra.

“Bharat Jodo Yatra has completed 100 days. Many congratulations to all the Indian travelers and especially to Mr. @RahulGandhi ji. The Yatra has got the support, cooperation, and trust of lakhs of people. This is a ‘national mass movement’,” Kharge tweeted.

On September 7, the foot march left Kanyakumari, and on Friday, the 12th day of its Rajasthan leg, it reached its 100-day milestone. From Rajasthan’s Dausa, the Congress MP Rahul Gandhi-led Yatra, the party’s effort at a mass contact campaign, resumed today.

Along with the tweet, the Congress veteran also posted a video message.
“As of today, the Bharat Jodo Yatra has been running for 100 days, marking a significant milestone. Happy birthday to Rahul Gandhi! Numerous people support BJY in the thousands. We have direct conversations with folks. We have been speaking with young people, farmers, women, those in need, and members of all sexes “Kharge remarked in the video.

He went on to point out three key ways that the yatra had brought people together.

“The Bharatiya Jodo Yatra is uniting people primarily against three things: 1. The vitriol being spread across society Atrocities against SC, ST, and minorities have continued. The opposition has been coming from the Congress party. Second, the nation has seen tremendous unemployment and inflation during the past eight years. All of you have contributed ideas to this so that we can create a comprehensive economic plan for the elections in 2024. Thirdly, the country is experiencing a wave of dictatorship. Constitutional institutions have been eroded by the BJP. Everyone has voiced their opposition to it. A nationwide movement is the Bharat Jodo Yatra. We are confident that by working together, we can give India a new path and a boost in the upcoming years.”

Over the course of nearly five months, the Bharat Jodo Yatra, which started on September 7, will travel 3,570 miles from Kashmir in the north to Kanyakumari in the south.

Prior to the general election of 2024, the Bharat Jodo Yatra attempts to increase public knowledge and support for the Congress party. The yatra’s slogan is “Mile Kadam, Jude Watan.”

The padayatra was continued by Waynad MP Rahul Gandhi, party leaders, and supporters from Meena High Court in Dausa at around six in the morning. A break would be taken at Giriraj Dharan temple at about eleven in the morning.

The party has scheduled a concert in Jaipur at the Albert Hall at around 7 pm to commemorate the 100 days of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, which would follow a press conference at the Congress office in Jaipur at around 4 pm.

KC Venugopal, a Rajya Sabha member, and the party’s general secretary, tweeted: “Today the historic journey of #BharatJodoYatra completes #100Days, uniting the country against hatred, bigotry, division, violence, injustice, unemployment &price rice. The #BJY has covered 8 states & 2,763KMs winning the hearts (in emoji) of millions. Thank you all for the love & camaraderie.”

The yatra will travel through Rajasthan, the lone state under Congress rule, for 17 days before arriving in Haryana on December 21. People were seen joining the march in great numbers while carrying banners and party flags.

The next year, the Bharat Jodo Yatra will travel 3,570 kilometres. According to the Congress, it is the longest foot march by an Indian politician in Indian history.

Rahul Gandhi intends to organise the party apparatus and bring the populace together in opposition to what he calls “divisive politics in the country.”

The Bharat Jodo Yatra is currently in Rajasthan after previously travelling through Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra. Next year, it will conclude in Kashmir.
