Senior party leaders and the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) had a lengthy conversation about the party’s election strategy for the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha.
According to a news statement issued by BJD General Secretary Manas Mangaraj, “an extensive discussion was held with the senior leaders of the Party today regarding the strategy for the upcoming Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections under the leadership of BJD President and Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik.”
According to the announcement, the party and the chief minister aim to fight for the larger interests of the people of Odisha, as the state would commemorate its 100th anniversary of foundation in 2036.

“In the discussions, it was resolved that since by 2036, Odisha will complete 100 years of its statehood and BJD and CM has major milestones to be achieved by this time, BJD will do everything towards this in the greater interests of people of Odisha and the State,” said the statement.
There are 21 parliamentary seats in Odisha. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Congress, and the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) secured the most seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Twelve seats were gained by the BJD, eight by the BJP, and one by the Congress.
There are 147 Assembly constituencies in the state. In the 2019 elections, which were held concurrently with the national elections, the BJD won 113 seats after dominating the state in the most recent polls.
