According to the Jamnagar Collector, the claimed bomb threat on a leased flight from Moscow to Goa was a ‘hoax call’.

The leased flight was diverted to Gujarat’s Jamnagar after Goa ATC received an alleged bomb threat on Monday. According to Jamnagar Collector Saurabh Pardhi, a comprehensive search was undertaken by the National Security Guard (NSG), police, and Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) personnel, but nothing unusual was discovered.

The Jamnagar Collector stated “The NSG, police, and BDS teams performed an extensive search. Passengers’ hand luggage and check-in luggage were also inspected. The flight has been approved for departure, and after completing certain formalities, it will depart for Goa. It was a prank call.”

According to Jamnagar SP Premsukh Delu, “The district control received a contact from ATC at 9 p.m., after which the district police and a bomb disposal squad arrived at the airport and started a rescue effort. The flight had 236 passengers and eight crew members. The flight was carefully scrutinised once all passengers and crew members had been evacuated. The NSG team also arrived at the location.”

He went on to say that the aeroplane landed about 9.50 p.m. on Monday and that the search continued until 9 a.m. on Tuesday.

Furthermore, he stated “The passengers, plane, and luggage were all properly inspected. We discovered nothing unusual.”

The director of Jamnagar Airport also revealed that security services detected nothing unusual onboard the leased flight from Moscow to Goa.

He added that the aircraft from Jamnagar to Goa will depart between 10.30 and 11 a.m.

“NSG has discovered nothing untoward. The flight from Jamnagar to Goa is scheduled to depart between 10.30 a.m. and 11 a.m. All cabin luggage has been carefully examined “declared the Director of Jamnagar Airport.

The international aircraft from Goa to Jamnagar, Gujarat, was diverted on Monday evening after the crew gained approval for an emergency landing at Jamnagar airport in response to an alleged bomb threat, according to airport officials.
